Absolutely AX Chapter of the TSUNAA
About Us
There were currently 22 charter members of the Absolutely AX Affinity Chapter of TSUNNA. These members have pledged Alpha Chi as early as 1978 and as recent as 2007. Tiffany Dobson (President), Chandra Smith(Treasurer), Neysa Taylor(Secretary), & Tarria Vasser-McNeal (Vice President) are the members of the Executive Board. Some of the other members are as follows: Colette Bradley (current advisor of Alpha Chi), Gloria Johnson ( current advisor of Alpha Chi), June Kellum, Tamara Johnson, Kanetha Pope, Brittini Barnes, Brittany Irby, Rachel Ruffin, Janiqua Owens, Mia McCain, Cristal Roach, Alanna Adams, Kera Taylor, Datoina Carter, Tondaleya Jobe. I would like to also add that all of us here in Nashville are financial & active members of the Nashville Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc..
The affinity group was formed under the guidelines of the University & National Alumni Association, with approval from our (Delta Sigma Theta) National President & 1st Vice President. It is a chapter of the TSU National Alumni Association. It is just like the groups alumni members of other greek letter organizations have already formed on campus (Omegas, Alphas, Kappas, Sigmas). This can be referenced under the Alumni (Chapter) section of the TSU website at www.tnstate.edu. The purpose of the group is for women who are members of Delta and have attended TSU to be able to give back to the University. It’s an opportunity for us to be able to have a direct and constant connection/ tie (affinity) to our University & graduate members of the Alpha Chi Chapter. The dues for membership are currently $50 ($25 of which goes to TSU & pays for your TSU National Alumni Association dues). The other $25 goes to the Absolutely AX Affinity Chapter of TSUNNA. As a chapter, we have the major responsibilities of supporting Wilson Hall; planning & executing Alpha Chi's Anniversary events; and future maintenance of the monument. This is outside of individual and line contributions being made to erect the monument.
The Absolutely AX Affinity Chapter of TSUNNA was the only group to be chartered by the TSU National Alumni Association during homecoming 2010. We were extremely honored. Right after the ceremony and throughout the homecoming weekend, sorors submited their applications to join with us in our support of TSU.
Sorors, we hope that you now have the knowledge that you need to comfortably make a decision to join us in support of our University. We encourage you and others to become involved in our efforts. In short, we just wanted to create a concise and organized way to support & give back to a couple of things in which WE ALL share a GREAT LOVE- TSU & our beloved chapter. Please feel free to relay this information to as many sorors that you know who have attended TSU. We need your support!
